Epic Riding on Mount St. Helens’ Western Slopes

The Plains of Abraham Trail on Mount St. Helens was thrust into the spotlight recently when it received IMBA’s Epic Trail designation. However, it’s not the only great ride on the mountain. The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is home to a number of must-do trails that are equally worthy of an epic designation. We met up with the crew from Growler’s Gulch for an epic ride complete with stream crossings, lava rock gardens, ravine crossings and hike-a-bikes, and a not so fun climb that felt way too long.
