Vallejo & Fairfield Parks

vallejo skate park

This is the Vallejo skatepark. Believe it or not, it is actually legal to ride bikes here. Unfortunately the park was poorly designed, as all the lips go to vert. Unless you just love riding vert, this park is a big let down. You have to wonder what the designer of this park was thinking. This park is supposedly here for kids, except you have to be pro to ride it? There is another second area where wood ramps are supposedly going to be placed. Hopefully that set up will be a big improvement. I had a good time carving around from bowl to bowl, but the lack of a fun hip made it a short session.

We rolled around for a little bit before heading out to get some Taco Bell.

After refueling, we checked out the Fairfield park. Technically bikes aren't allowed here, but it doesn't look like that is enforced, as there were quite a few riders on 20s there when we rolled up. The Fairfield park was a lot of fun and had a nice lay out that accommodated many riders at once. The park was busy the entire time we were there, in stark contrast with the empty Vallejo park. If I was the city of Vallejo, I'd try and get my money back!

Drew once spent over $19.00 at Taco Bell and ate it all in one sitting. Amazing. Click here for another angle on this shot.

We had a good session here before hitting yet another park on the way home. I didn't pull the camera out for that one as we were all starting to get worn out. Plus, I was having too much fun.

It was a great day of riding. I left the house at 8:30am and got home about 7:30pm- we got a full day in! And while I can't say I was busting anything cool on my new bike (other than riding a full pipe!), I was stoked to be out riding. Now that my ankle is capable of mellow freestyle riding it's game on!
