Trampoline trainingThe tramp bike is a bmx bike without wheels, brakes, or cranks. The fork, bottom bracket, and dropouts, are wrapped and padded to prevent damage to the trampoline. It takes a bit of practice to get the bike to bounce at the right angle with you, but after a few bounces, one gets the hang of it. Soon I was bouncing up and pinching the seat and taking a hand off the bar. The mandatory bar spin comes next, followed by no hander.
Fun stuff. No handers are actually some of the easier tricks to try.
Knee pads are shin guards would still be a good idea for riding a tramp bike. I had a few close calls where I almost bounced on the bike. And that would hurt.
I haven't made the transition to trying the new stuff in the dirt, but after a few more sessions in the foam pit and on the trampoline, I think I will. If you have access to your own trampoline, setting up a trampoline bike is a lot of fun.
