2007 Specialized Sneak PeekDisclaimer: I apologize for the low quality of the photos, but considering I shot everything with a pocket camera, I'm happy they came out as good as they did. I am a technically a spy after all, and not actually accredited media. (At least, not yet.)
It's here. And the Argyle is here to stay. I will tell you now, it is waaay better than Tattoo(?) (you'll see.) Love it or hate it, it's the new 2007 Demo 7 from Specialized.
The new Deviant helmets now have cheek pads for a better fit. Although the verdict is still out on that; mine bounced all over the place during the first ride with it at Downieville Friday. You may have noticed that the helmet matches the paint job of the demo 7. This is a theme with all of the lines this year at Specialized. I'm still waiting for the team argyle cycling socks.
Personally, I like the argyle. But I'm not so into the three color fade. I still can't decide if I'm going to sell my Demo 8, but this thing is pretty cool.
The 2007 Big Hit. The yucky brown is a theme this year. It is also available as a frameset with a DHX. A lot of riders are going to the Big Hit in order to build up sub 40lb race bikes, and Specialized has taken note.
The 2007 SX Trail. Sorry about the crappy photo. The Sweet baby blue paint that BearClaw is riding is available if you buy the frameset. Aw yeah.
The 2007 SX.
Except for the lack of tire clearance.
I'm not sure what I think of the use of carbon for a 6" travel bike. At least for me. I actually ride my bike. This version, made of aluminum looks to be more along the lines of what I would be down for. The lines on this bike are sweet. We didint' get to ride any of the bikes, as we missed the Dirt Demo in Tahoe, but time will tell...
That's it for now. You'll be seeing this stuff in all the magazines in a few weeks anyway.
