Weekend Road Trip day two:
All day riding session!
posted 2.22.06
The next day my brother and I woke up early for a long day of fun riding.
The plan was to start with a quick warm up session at the Medford bmx
track before heading to the Talent skatepark. After that we were going
to check out the local dirt jumps at Central Point.
We parked the car by the Medford skatepark which is located near the
bmx track. The park was completely deserted so we grabbed our bikes and
hit it. The local kids showed up shortly after, so after a short session,
we headed over to the bmx track to for our warm up session. After breaking
a sweat, we headed over to Talent, and rode the skatepark for a while.

We had a good time zipping around the park. I'm definitely rusty after
all the time I've spent in the cast, but it was fun.

This local kid was killing it with big turn downs over this hip. I don't
even know how he got all that speed.
After our session in the park, we headed over to Central Point to see
what condition the jumps were in. Turns out they were in good shape. The
locals were taking advantage of the rain and dialing in new lines.

They were killing it. It was good stuff.

Can you say boost?

One of the local guys busts a turndown, captured with my 50mm prime lens.

I had a good time riding but was having problem getting enough speed
to clean the second to last set of the medium line. I must have cased
the same jump over 10 times. (My right leg was in a cast for a few months
and just doesn't have the strength yet - on the plus side, my ankle held
up to the repeated impacts, and didn't bother me that much.)
Eventually I got frustrated and pulled out my camera to get some time
in with my new lenses. I was stoked on that. My new P.3 was taking the
abuse well, although after a crash I had at Talent, my derailleur and
hanger are a bit mangled.

Ashland local

A pair of no footer shots to round it off. It was good to ride with
my buddy Brandon again- that's him on the right on my old Azonic DS-1.

After a fun time riding bikes, we packed it up and called it a day.
