East Bay Mountain biking, shuttle-style!

Today Dan K Harris called me out and said, we've got rides to the top!

I rode 6 miles up park street into the Oakland Hills, to meet my friend Dan at "the Log." It's a parking spot at the bottom of the trail, where he was waiting with a friend and a van. We got a ride to the top of the trail, and then Dan proceeded to take me down some sweet off the map stuff(we're bad, whatever, everything fun here is illegal, I don't even care anymore). The dirt was moist and the traction was perfect. The terrain flew by, as we flowed down the trails until we popped out back at the log.

After grabbing some food, we chatted with the guys at the Montclair bike shop, while Dan tightened his cranks. We then pedaled over to Berkeley where we met up with Greg and Blake.. Greg and Blake both ride Bullits, and I'm on a Heckler, so we were representing Santa Cruz Bikes today!

We shuttled to the top of a trail called Side-O; the guys had a van, and that is the way to do this trail. I have been pedaling up South Park Drive to get there from El Sobrante this summer. Whenever I pedal up that way, I end up getting too tired to really enjoy the trail. Today though, we were shreddin'!

Here's Blake off the first drop. Because the log is set at an angle, it looks harder than it is. From the top, it looks bigger too. Check out Blakes' reflective jacket.

And my cool new bike. I'm starting to feel like I know what she's capable of now. We started to open it up a little bit today. All she needs is a lightweight 20mm axle fork with 150mm travel to really fill her potential. We had a kick ass time.

Side-O drops in to UC-Berkeley campus. Since we were there, Dan "Devil Eye" Harris decides to show this pyrimid thing-ee who's boss. Note Dan's slacks. Nice pants!
