The inner speed demon (more like my own personal gremlin)
got out today. But I showed it.
I crashed again.
At least I didn't damage my new helmet.(I just got a Giro Zen- my new
favorite helmet, it rules.)
Unfortunetly, I kind of wrecked some other stuff. I broke a saddle I really
liked, a WTB Lazer V. The worst part was that it was pretty much brand
new. I laid my bike down on fast corner on a fireroad, going much faster
than I had any right to be going- again. It was rather painful. No scratches
on my new frame, but my Hayes levers took a big hit. As you can see they
got a little scratched.

My brand new (less
than 200 miles on it) SRAM X-9 derailleur is not the happy bird it used
to be. (it's definitely not shifting the way it used to.) I love the SRAM,
but I seem to be breaking their stuff a lot. And my $100.00 fancy saddle
is pretty much done. The thing didn't have a scratch, and now its f*cked.
I'm gonna beat that stupid speed gremlin. Maybe if I rub it's belly across
the ragged surface of a logging road going about 30 MPR. Unfortunetly,
like in Fight Club, I get to deal with the stinging pain later, in the
shower, when I try and clean it up. And it did sting. I mean, look at
it. It looks painfull. The stupid gremlin is me.

In case you were
wondering, I was indeed wearing my knee pads. No stiches this time, although
my new shorts have a hole in them. However, I am pleased that this time,
my knee does not.
Oh yeah, my Heckler
frame still doesn't have a scratch on it. How funny is that?
