Scott riding the trails in the park.

SC freerider on his home turf

back on the trail

I fell over the first time I rode this, and landed on my ass.

Santa Cruz: The best riding in the extended Bay Area?

Man, am I are sore today. Yesterday was a great day of riding in what seemed like summer in Santa Cruz, California. It's hard to believe it is December. Isn't it supposed to be cold and rainy or something? After riding the trails for a while, we went down to check out this wallride that was featured in a video. The locals dug a tranny and made a sick hip jump. I must have aired it 40 times. I had so much fun on the hip jump I didn't even get around to trying the wall ride. I will for sure next time. I feel like I'm actually regaining the bike skills I've let go since I moved here. And my dh components are finding their way back on to the Heckler. It keeps getting heavier and heavier.

It appears we're finding the limits of my pocket-sized digital camera. It doesn't handle a large range of light levels very well. I had to do a significant amount of dodging and burning in Photoshop to get decent amounts of contrast.)

I'm not the only one that is hurting though. Blake crashed in the soft dirt of the landing of another hip jump that was being dug above the one in the pic. Fortunetly, he didn't break anything.

The vibe was so good, I can't remember when I've ridden with a group of riders with such good energy. There must have been 15 to 20 riders there at one point. Every one was just sending it. I can't wait to go back and session this spot again. Did I mention that just about everyone that was riding dual suspension bike on a Santa Cruz? Other than one kid on a Rockhopper FSR, I don't remember seeing anything else.

enjoy the pics!
