Riding Sandhill Ranch

Just about everyone I've been riding with lately headed out to Mammoth this weekend. I've been getting low on the funds lately(someone buy my Heckler plu-lease!) and I have homework to get to, so I'm going to have to wait until next year. I really needed to get my riding fix in, so my buddy Frank and myself headed out to Livermore to check out Sandhill Ranch. I've heard all about it, but have yet to make it up there. I have been thinking about trying some Mt Cross racing, and P&R Sports hosts a Biker Cross series, starting next weekend.

There weren't a lot of riders out there because of the Championships at Mammoth. This was nice. The Mt. Cross and Dual Slalom courses were a lot of fun, and we were free to try different drills, as well as work on certain sections. It's pretty cool to know that there is a place locally to train for these kinds of events.

No pictures this time; We were having to much fun riding our asses off. We did an all day session from 10:30 to 3 or so, before heading down to the Pleasanton Bmx Park. Pleasanton was going off. I haven't ever seen it as busy. We were pretty much beat at this point, but got a second wind and rode for almost 2 more hours. If anyone ever says that freeriding and dirt jumping isn't a very tough workout, well, you've never hung with one of our all day riding sessions. When I got home, I was dead tired.

Good times all around; We got to ride with some new friends, Roger and Ivan from HubTV.net/ MSDHW and met several more chill local riders. This is one of my favorite things about dirt jumping- Because there are only so many spots, everyone that rides ends up running into each other at said spots. Quite a bit different from trail riding, where everyone is off in the woods.
