No one really runs flat handlebars anymore. Where did they all go?
Oh, here they are.

This is what 1400 black bars looks like. The sick thing is that there are at least two more stacks like this in a container next to the bike shop I work at. These ones are going to the recycling bin. If you were wondering, moving 1400 handlebars in boxes around does make your shoulders sore the next day.

Hopefully everyone that wanted to see the video clip I made has seen it, as I'm going to recut it. The critic in me is ready to go to work. I'll be filming and riding with the guys in Ashland this friday, and Saturday in Eugene. I should have enough footage gathered by then to totally kill my hard drive. (I have a new one on order)

Streaming the file takes a lot more bandwidth.
Plus, if you down load it, you can watch us crash our brains out in slow motion, over and over again.

Note: you must have Quick time installed to view the clip.

sick commentary

You don't see cars upside down every day. I had a better afternoon than this guy.
I have started to make it a habit to carry my camera with me everywhere. You never know what you're going to get. This scene took place right up the street from where I live.

I bought a 4 to 6 pin fire wire cable for my video camera yesterday. The sucker was expensive. On the plus side, I can now video conference with iChat. Except the only one I know that also has a camera set up is Josh O, and he lives like 20 feet from me. Ironic. I'm like, wtf?

Yesterday my friend Theo came over and showed me how to input video into Final Cut and iMovie. I've almost completed the trailer for "I Hate Bikes the Movie." Keep checking back. I'm pretty damn excited about it. It's a three minute clip made up of footage mostly from Ashland last summer. Start thinking about your section, and we'll plan on starting the filming this spring!

I'm heading to the computer store to pick up another hard drive soon. The Lacie D2 extreme. Even my computer components are extreme! 250GB of fire wire extended storage, should keep me for now. This is a project I have envisioned for years now. I'm excited to finally start making it happen.

A friend on the East Coast sent me a link to this site.

Check it out, it's like a North Shore Style Mt. Bike Park. That is definitely a cool way to spend the cold and rainy season. I have been getting the itch to ride an indoor skate/bike park. What really sucks though, is that the closest indoor park, The Vans Skate park in the Great Mall, just closed down for good. Couldn't they have waited until Spring? My knee is almost good as new, and I'm itching for some freestyle action! Next week, when I'm in Ashland, I'll be meeting up with Koa and some of the boys for a Dirt Jumping Session. It's been too long since I've flown.

Reviewed: Specialized's 2005 Air Tool Pro Floor Pump.

It's one sweet air tool.

As of now, the site is taking a break from commenting on politics, and going back to bitching about SUV's that never see dirt. They hate bikes the most.

My knee has been healing really well. I took the stitches out a week later with tweezers and some scissors. I went for a two hour trail ride today. I put my WTB slim pads in my camelback, and put them on at the top. Better safe than sorry.

Winter and the wet season has arrived in the Bay Area. So far the trails are still in decent shape, but it does get dark really early.

I put my Seven back together in its latest incarnation, a cross bike. Kind of like a 29er, similar to a hybrid. Whatever you call it, it's my new fire road/commuting-training ride.

Knee update!
