Some news...

Went to Theo's house last night and imported the footage from my camera onto Theo's Mac. It looks good. You get a much better scope of the stunts with the video. I'm looking forward to seeing it when Theo gets it cut and edited.

On a side note, I bought Jib II today. Billed as Thor Wixom's last bike video, Jib 2, Sessions, It includes footage of internationally known riders, as well as footage of local riders that Thor Wixom invited to shoot with him through an open call he posted on the internet.

I'm torn between being pleased and embarrassed to say that I made it into the video. On one hand, I'm psyched that I'm in a video. That's kind of cool. I actually have a short section in the Ashland part. The bad part: my riding was crap that day. more thoughts on appearing in a video...

Added some new pictures of our session in Santa Cruz to the story... page 2

Blake, James, and I rode in Santa Cruz today. Theo did some filming of us doing these drops. I think I have finally beat my 20ft drop barrier, as I floated the biggest vertical drop I have ever done. It was scary, and yet felt so good. James launched it first, and then did it a second time. Looked pretty good. I was next. Theo and I both have footage from both of our cameras, and we're hoping to get together in the next few days to cut some footage. Check out our pictures!

This is the first contribution I've made to the bikesmart website. I'm enjoying the projects I do at bikesmart. I may as well plug us here, since technically, I do get profit sharing! (Yes, my transition from bike shop rat to corporate whore has begun!)

My advertising class at Laney has given me a lot of fresh ideas for a lot of projects. I want to do part of the site in flash. -Now I just have to learn flash. I bought a good book on flash though. The hard part will be actually reading it. So many goals, so little time. I'm pretty excited about the future. I wonder what the 25 year old version of me would think of that? I've upgraded my computer system, and am now saving top purchase more equipment. I'm planning on buying a prosumer digital slr in the next year, as well as a tablet for the mac. I'm working on a possible July cover for Dirt Rag Magazine. My girlfriend jamie and I are looking at housing in San Rafael to be closer to our jobs. Busy!

I made myself a desktop for my computer station at work. I'm still stoked on this picture my girlfriend Jamie took of me last weekend. I must have hit that jump like 20 times, and I still wasn't happy with how the trick looked. But that blue is just intense. I'm looking forward to the next time I make it up to Ashland- turns out the Pilot jumps in Medford are looking pretty good too! My brother sent me a clip of him riding them. He's getting close to getting table tops. Ah tables. I've always wanted to get a decent picture of myself doing one for the fridge. ( Kind of like a first grader, I like to put pictures of myself riding on the fridge- just a little thing to get stoked on.) It's a nice way to measure progression.

I straight up wussed out this weekend, and didn't make it out to the groovy gravity games. I looked at the forecast, and it called for rain. I'll put it bluntly: I do not like riding in the rain. I never have, and I never will. I've lived in Oregon all my life until last year, and I freakin' moved to California for sunny weather! And since I'm not pro, and didn't want to drop $50 to be miserable, I elected to stay home and play with my new computer. Theo was out there though, cut some video for y'all to check out: dirty rotten scoundrels

Look at those poor bastards. I kind of wish I went out there (now) so I could have laughed at them. But that's ok, because I'm laughing now. Check out some links Blake sent me here, here, and here too.

Blake and I are talking about getting a Santa Cruz session going this Saturday. So far the forecast suggests this is possible. Drop me a line if you want to go!

A trip to Comp USA and the purchase of a wireless router, and I'm back online. I've started my Ashland/ Southern Oregon scene report. Check it out here: Ashland Scene

While I'm on the subject of Ashland, I've got to say to all the locals: dude, I'm jealous.
They have finally gotten their new dirt jump park approved. Construction has already begun on the jumps. Check out the teaser to the right. There are only three sets with lips at this point, but it's clear that these jumps are going to blow up, and there is going to be a lot of talent pouring out the the area soon. Local Downhill Pro Bill Roberts is supervising the construction of the jumps, and they are in very capable hands.

In other news, I've sold my .243 Racing hard tail. For everyone that was interested in buying it, thanks for your inquiries.

Check out this cool hard tail site: Revolution Freeride.
Chris from Revolution Freeride was nice enough to link to us here at Ihatebikes. Check it out!
