Although I don't really race DH anymore, I will be out March 20, at Team Wrong Way's 5th Annual Groovy Gravity Games. When you want to hang out and meet new peeps to ride with, the best way is to gather at cool local events like these. Since I don't have insurance still, I'm pretty much going to chill on the course, and focus on hitting the booters and flowing down the hill. If I feel like I can go fast without getting stupid, maybe I'll have a fast time. It's going to be a good time either way. My riding buddy Blake Von Knopka is one of the main course designers this time around.

Normally, after this much downtime off the bike, I'll start to get a little grouchy. We've got some more rain coming through, and tomorrow's scheduled ride looks like it may get rained out. Of course, compared to weather in the Northwest, namely Portland, this ain't so bad. I have been spending a lot of time thinking and geeking out on my bikes. If you've known me for a while, you know I regularly change out the set-ups of my rides. Right now, my .243 racing frame is getting put back into service. I've got a lot of action planned for her. more

Timbuk2 has officially made my shit list. Most of you are probably familiar with Timbuk2 messenger bags. If you use a messenger bag, odds are you own one or have owned one. And the hat is definitely off to them, they make a great product. However, their customer service could use a lot of work. Perhaps it's just one employee. If it is, they should fire da bitch. more

I had to call in sick today. I hate being sick; it bites. I've made the best of it though. I took my easy chair, stuck it in front of the computer, inserted X-men 1 and 2 into the dvd player and went through Dreamweaver tutorials.

At least I'm learning something. I'm really jonesing to ride my bike though. I still haven't gotten to ride it since souping it up.

On January 20th, 2005, Millions of People around the World will protest the Inauguration of George W. Bush in one form or another. How will you make your voice heard? Perhaps you've been hearing of "Not One Damn Dime Day."

It's for real. Here are a few links to get started, for my fellow budding activist brothers (and sisters)

I have been reading this really cool blog that belongs to a friend of a friend. Check out his song, "My Big Truck." I'm going to use this song in my bike video. It's like, totally sweet.

This piece was especially entertaining.

I've got some serious new year resolutions going this year. more...

Oh man, I just downloaded the video of Ashley Simpson getting booed at the half-time show.. it is soo funny. You have to watch it. . The girl can't sing.

Did get a road ride in this morning though. I met up with Steve Heaton, the local area Specialized rep, who happens to be a fast racer guy. The pace was good; brisk and constant. This spinning thing is still new to me, but I can see the value in smooth pedaling and exerting energy a little at a time as oppose to my current style of pedaling my ass off whenever I can- and then resting. Steve was nice enough to give me some feedback on my form. (which is apparently very lousy) Unfortunately, all I had for breakfast was a banana and a packet of Gu. It didn't last long enough though; I was feeling it after I got home. I would have eaten more, but I don't like eating early in the morning for some reason.

It's still raining. If I don't get out for some time on a bike soon, I will probably go nuts. I have an early morning road ride planned tomorrow, weather permitting. I'll be breaking in my refurbished road bike, the Rauler.

My friend Blake emailed me some pictures of a local riding spot called DMC. It's supposed to be off the hook. Check out the pictures:

Does that look fun or what?

Now I'm totally dying to ride. Thanks a lot, Blake!

I blew my X-mas bonus from the bike shop on two of my bikes, the Rauler and the Heckler. (I'll have to post some pictures soon.) I'm starting to get pretty psyched for the season. I plan on doing a few races this year. I'd like to do a few XC races, mainly Sea Otter, and a few 24 Hour Races. But my main focus will be on the Super D.

Happy New Year 2005!
A new year deserves a new look. I'm fairly happy with the look of the site for now, but I spent about three hours cleaning up code and fixing bugs.
Hopefully it's noticeable. It's I hate bikes, version 2.5!

In other news, since I installed the web counter, the site has received 500 hits. Pretty cool, considering I don't advertise the site, and haven't even inserted meta-tags into the code yet.
