The
Expo. page 2.
Continuing my walk around the expo, I encountered even more industry
types. Hans Rey has a new videography out. As a beginner, my brother and
I learned a lot from the early Hans Rey videos. I couldn't resist getting
a picture taken with the man. Later I snapped this shot of some guy with
big ears in the Bianchi booth. I understand he's a famous roadie guy or
something. There were quite a few pro riders in attendance. The most fascinating
thing with encountering many of the professional athletes was realizing
that their actual statue was actual size, but it seemed much bigger to
me. They look much bigger in the magazines but, their actual size...ops.
That song reference kind of got away from me there.

Over at the Rock Shox booth Jon C. was working hard explaining the finer
points of motion control. My homeboy is getting married this weekend!
Congrats to Jon and Jen on their impending nuptials. I would love to attend,
but my budget for the month was limited to just the one trip to Vegas.
And here's the rest of the OSU crew. Carrie said she is healing up nicely
from the injuries sustained at Schweitzer. Dave and Carrie drove me to
the Cottage Grove Hospital several years back when I dislocated my shoulder.
That was a fun time.

Here's a bunch of the fellas from MTBR.com. And I'm not sure who these
other folks with Forest are, but you have to admit they have some style.

My mother showed up at Interbike. That was a bit surreal. That kind of
went with the whole Vegas motif though. I think she was pretty excited
that her slacker-bike-shop-staffin' son finally got some art work on the
cover of a magazine. Thanks to John Ford of Bear Creek Bicycle in Ashland
for breakfast that day. We splurged on the breakfast buffet at the Venician.
Later in the day, I finally met up with my homies from River City Bicycles
in Portland. The Boys were nice enough to let me freeload in their hotel
room. Apparently they were excited about the magazine too. Especially
Jeb and Billy.
