Evil Impressions.

Here's another update on the status on my new bike, the Evil D.O.C. I've been moving the bar position around a bit, as I initially had them kind of high. I prefer my bars low, so the bike has a more compact 20-inch bmx-like feel. The problem with most bikes I've owned, is that pulling the front end of the bike up to manual and bunny hop becomes difficult with that set up. The D.O.C. has adjustable dropouts that allow a short 15.75 stay. I'm loving it, and it pulls up really well. All that is left is for me to get used to it. Check it out.

So far I like the head tube angle as well, which was my major concern with the D.O.C. It is pretty slack, so I shortened the travel of my Dirt Jumper fork to 4"inches. Lowering the front end has again resulted in more of a bmx feel. The relaxed head tube almost makes the bike feel like it has a 24" inch rear wheel. I didn't like running the 24 on my last set up, but I did like the way it cornered.

I finally have the bike dialed in. I was having some damping issues, but I called Marzzochi and had them fax me a schematic of the fork's internals. It looks like my pumping rod adjuster is seized, but the fork now has oil damping on while rebounding, and is ridable.

Now I just need some dry weather.
