For 2006 the site refines the manifesto. When I first moved to the Bay Area about two years ago, I pretty much just rode my cross country hard tail around. For almost the better part of a season. On one hand, I was getting back to my roots, and doing the mountain bike thing. The problem was that my passion for riding no longer rested in long rides in the hills. I've always been more into going downhill, and fast. I had gone from shuttling my downhill bike three days a week on 14 mile runs and regular after work skate park sessions to riding my XC bike in city parks. The stoke level was low. I can always have fun just being on a bike, but that isn't what I'm about. It got to be a bit depressing. Problem was, I didn't know any one that liked to ride the kind of stuff I like to. I was used to heading to the local park or trails and just riding with the locals. That's how we networked. When you move somewhere new, it takes time to make connections. And its hard to meet up with new riders when all the good stuff is hidden. The new goal for this site is to let people know that freeriding, in all of its various forms, is alive and well in the Bay Area. Someone has to document the scene. A lot of spots are a bust, and most of the good single track is illegal. Most of the good spots are illegal too. But you can't let the man bring you down. I can't exactly tell people where to go for what I think are obvious reasons, but I think that if I can show you all of the fun stuff there is out there and share it with you, I can point you in the right directions. If you know there are sweet jumps, you can find them. We're riding some fun stuff. Keep an eye on the "spots" section. There are some cool places to jump your bike that are legal. I'd start there, and on the local forums. Riding bikes and having a good time. That's what its about. i've been back on it for the last year, I'm still finding and riding new spots. I'll let you know how they are.
