Sea Otter 2006For those of you that have yet to made it down, the Sea Otter Classic is a treat of those of us addicted to bike gear. All the major manufacturers show up to show off prototypes, new lines, and new product. This year was no different- Sram made a big show of it with the premier of a new road group, as well as a dirt jumping specific fork in the Rock Shox line. The first stop we made was in the expo. Here are a few shots of bikes that caught my eye.
GT was showing off the latest version of the production I-Drive DHi. Last year they had a few prototypes of their internal drive train bike- no signs of it this year..
WTF? It's true, people are making bikes out of bamboo. Check out this bamboo single speed bike with carbon lugs.
This is Jeff Jones. He's an old school rider like me, but builds titanium hard tails that are definitely new school. This is his latest creation, a fully rigid 29" single speed. Jeff is an old school bmx and trials rider, and his designs show it, with massive amounts of stand over, and short, short chain stays. His bikes aren't cheap, but if you have the money and the design for a one of a kind ride, check out Jones Bikes.
It's pink, it's carbon, and what else is there to say? My girl friend wants that.
These bums here be some of the boys of RideSFO, doing what they do best.
