Sea Otter 2006
Mountain Cross
On Sunday my cold got the best of me. In fact, I ended up missing the
Pro Downhill as I wandered around in a daze. Eventually I wandered over
to the Mountain Cross course and cheered some of my boys on, but then
I just got bummed that I wasn't racing this year, and that was a bit of
a downer.

Crowds of riders await their turn at the gate.

Here's a shot of my buddy Chipper, leading the men's expert field. This
shot is most likely on his MySpace page by now.

By the time I made it up to the mens Pro DH, it was just about over.
The course was so wet, it was a straight up pedal fest from top to bottom.
A DH bike was a bad idea this year.

I snapped a few pics of expert practice before heading over to catch
the Pro Mountain Cross.
By the time the Pro MTX was held, rain had begun to fall. Until this point,
we had managed to stay dry. I had to borrow a floral patterned Gap umbrella
to keep my camera from being damaged as I shot these photos.

And that was it for this year. With a full memory card, we headed towards
the car to avoid massive amounts of traffic on our way back to our daily
grind.
