Off the map? Maybe. Maybe not. But since the stunts in Santa Cruz were destroyed, I've decided that these days it's best to be as vague as possible. My co-workers John, Nick, and I headed out after work to check out a potential new dirt jump location near San Rafael.

The good news? We found some. Not a lot to write home about, but considering how close they are to the bike shop, I'd say they have some potential.

Personally, anytime I'm in the air on my bike, I'm a happy guy. We snapped a few pics on my digi, but I neglected to set it up correctly, so they didn't come out that great.

After we checked out a few more of the hits, John and I went on a mission to ride 7-11, a fun trail hidden in the hills. We rode it the other day with Davin and Sean from the shop, but I neglected to recharge my camera batteries. There are some cool freshly built stunts hidden up in the woods. My favorites were a rolling ladder with a teeter in the middle, and a ladder to a road gap. I hit the gap on my Heckler earlier in the week, but somehow I'm running XC rims again, and decided not to push my luck until I've built up a sturdier, freeride light wheel. (I'm building up tonight! No more excuses!)

Check out those 2 by 4s! That stuff is fresh! It's always a pleasure to ride solidly build stunts. John got distracted by my picture taking, and paid for it, taking a hard bail. Fortunately, we were able to continue our ride, as his injuries were fairly minor.

This drop in was kind of steep. It was definitely good for a rush. We were pretty much daring each other to launch off the top and aim for the tranny that starts by the green bush in the right of the pic.

It was a little scary. But damn, that's good sheet. That rush is the best.
