Riding a new spot- Mill Valley Jumps
I've been having issues
with the my lack of rhythm at the trails. No flow for me on the
technical line at the 101 Jumps. It has been frustrating me to no
end, and definitely not good for my confidence on the bike.
There is only one way
to get over this, and that is to ride more, and challenge myself.
I have new resolve, and a solid steed to do it on. My mission: get
my jumping skills to another level. Towards this end, I have been
riding as often as I can with the hard tail riding San Rafael Crew.
The guys pretty much just ride Bmx- but on mountain bikes, new school
style.
Anyway, I finally got
Drew to show me where the Mill Valley Jumps were. These jumps are
a bit of a secret as well. They're well hidden, which should help
keep them around for a while.
I also got some more
practice with my new Digital SLR. I've been really happy with the
results from my Canon. You can get a lot of shots fired off with
a frame rate of 5 a second.
The Mill Valley Jumps
consist of three main lines: A tight, super technical line on the
left, a large three pack in the middle, and an easy three pack of
tables to the right. The lips all have masonite nailed into the
faces to protect them from crumbling. It made for a trippy feel.
There are a few other
lines that are possible was well, like my line straight through
to the last set. I'm starting to feel like I can jump dirt again,
which is a good feeling. Now I'm feeling ready to work on the line
at 101.
I take the easy one-hitter line to one of the larger doubles. Gotta
get comfortable flying a hard tail again some how..
