Carlmont
DH & Freeride Big Bike Playground

AT xup

Until last weekend, the last time I rode at Carlmont was over a year ago. I've spent the last year rehabing and getting back into dirt jumping and little else. After a few dh rides where I stuck my foot out and encountered sharp pain, I put my dh bike in the closet and haven't brought it out very often. Thankfully those times are over, and the dh bike has been getting a lot of use in the last few weeks. In fact, thanks to riding with younger riders like Andrew Taylor (who basically owns Carlmont!) I'm stepping back up, and pushing my own personal limits.

Progression is a personal thing for all of us. Whether your facing your own fear and riding a section of trail or launching a step down gap bigger than anything you've done before, Carlmont is one of the few places in Nor-Cal where riders step it up regularly.

A full spot report is in the works, but until then here are some pics from our recent session.
