Joaquin Miller Park

I've been exploring my local trails a bit more on my days off. Here's the map from the website. Joaquin Miller Park has the distiction of having the only singletrack in the East Bay that currently allows bikes. The park is managed by the city of Oakland.

For more information on the park, check out the website: http://www.oaklandparks.com

The park is by far the best city park Mountain biking I have yet to experiance. I can ride there from my apartment. Fugetabout Portland's Forest Park.

I don't know who is responsible for the website, but I really appreciate their pro-bike stance. They seem to be the only rational voice in the California Parks system. California hikers just love using cyclists as scapegoats. I think they all can suck it.

Frustration voiced, more on the park. Cinderella Trail and Chaparral Trail are two of the more exciting sections. I like to end my rides with a trip down Cinderella or Chaparral, taking a left on Sunset, and a hard right down Palos Colorados. Apparently the bottom part of Palos Colorados is illegal to ride bikes on. But I don't know that.

I'll post some pictures as soon as I take some.
