Page 3. Onto the cool bikes...

The new redesigned V-10 from Santa Cruz is tight. This bike looks like the hot ticket this year for dh racers. Lighter than last years model, but it did get a bit more expensive. Still, it's sure to be more affordable than the Intense M3. And the VP Free- another drool worthy bike.

Iron Horse's line actually looks pretty sweet this year. They get my vote for most improved line. A lot of companies are coming late onto the freeride band wagon(Raleigh and Diamond Back are two that come to mind), but Iron Horse made some waves with their DH and freeride sponsored riders this year, which definitely proves that they are taking the "Black Diamond" market seriously. DW from Evil Bikes designed the new crop of dual suspension models. They seem to be a nice upgrade from last year's copy-cat bikes. This is their all mountain model.

And the DH models..

freeride..

Giant has also revamped their line. This model, the Reign, looks to be the replacement for the All Conditions series. There goes the resale value of my AC-1..

Freeride offerings from Sinister..

The Street/Dirt model from Sinister featured a peg boss. That can't be good for the warrenty.. I'm not sure what I think of that. Aluminum bikes with pegs just sound like a bad idea to me, I'll stick to my 20" for grinding for now.

Evil Bike's Sovereign. This bike was supposed to be in production months ago. The Sovereign is currently my number one pick for a do it all heavy duty Jib-bike. They are to be available in two months. If this bike lives up to the hype, I want one.

To quote Evil:

"Since 2002, we have worked tirelessly to perfect the Sovereign's frame structure and geometry. Its custom triple-butted Reynolds 853 and 725 steel frame structure is one of the most meticulously crafted high-end steel framesets that we have ever seen. The frame's asymmetic monostay design allows for an incredible 15.5 minimum chainstay with a 26X2.3 tire. This yoke design also offers the ability to run up to a 16.75 inch chainstay for trail rides, and can fit a huge 3.0 inch wide tire for those big hit riders. Its XX-Rated bolt-on dropout system allows riders to use standard QR wheels, with gears OR a singlespeed setup, and never worry about wheel slippage."

That's what the website says anyway. This bike could possibly be the the end of my quest for the do-it-all steel hard tail. Single speed, gears, skatepark or mountain trails. I want, want, want. Someone please buy one of my bikes.
